FAW Jiefang Signs Agreement with Continental AG

www.chinatrucks.com: On February 27, 2017, FAW Jiefang signs a strategic cooperative agreement with Continental AG in Barcelona, Spain. The agreement is signed by Mr. Hu Hanjie, General Manager of FAW Jiefang and Dr. Michael Ruf, Global Executive President of Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket, Continental AG.
Both sides decide to reach a cooperative partnership and conduct full cooperation in branding, technology and marketing, aiming at exaggerating the advantage of the alliance between the two giant companies. They will work together to increase FAW Jiefang’s competitiveness and maintain its technical advantage, and eventually to provide the best solutions and create the largest values for customers by continuously improving product quality and performance.
As a cradle of the automotive industry in New China, FAW Jiefang produced the first automotive in China on July 13, 1956. After more than 60 years of development, FAW Jiefang has become a leading Chinese truck enterprise. Its sales in 2016 reach 202,000 units, 19.25% of which belonging to medium and heavy trucks with the latter ranking first in its market. In January 2017, its sales hit 27,969 units, 10,000 units higher than the second brand, up by 146% year on year and 15.4% over last month. With a market share of 23.1%, FAW Jiefang heavy trucks leaves others too far behind to catch up with.
As a unit of Continental AG, Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket is a technically leading company in global electronic and mechanical products, especially taking a lead position in China’s commercial vehicle industry in terms of powertrain, interior, infotainment, security and chassis.
