China’s Heavy Duty Truck Sales Up 16 pct in April
In April, 2018, heavy-duty truck sales reaches 121,000 units, a 16 percent increase year-on year and 8% drop over previous month But when seen from January to April, heavy-duty truck sales increased by 14% to 444,400 units, led by a significant increase in construction trucks segment.
In April, FAW Jiefang ranks first in terms of heavy-duty truck segment with sales of 26,000 units, with Dongfeng (23,000 nits), Sinotruk (19,000 units), SHACMAN 18,000 units) and Foton 14,000 units) following close behind. The top five increase by 1.06% over the previous year to 121,000 units, accounting for nearly 82.6% of the total. That represents the top five are vying for more and more share in heavy duty truck market.
As can be seen from the table, SAIC Hongyan ranks first with an increase of 68% and XCMG comes second with a rise of 35% on a monthly basis. Remarkably, Foton also achieved a monthly increase of 34% to 14,000 units in April.
Seen from January to April, China’s heavy-duty truck sales rise by 14% to 444,400 units, which are 56,000 units more than previous year. Going into specific, the top five heavy duty truck makers are FAW Jiefang(114,000 units), Dongfeng(78,300 units), Sinotruk (72,300 units), SHACMAN (64,100 units) and Foton (40,400 units). The added up sales of the top five reaches 369,200 units, accounting for 83.1% of the total 444,400 units. (www.chinatrucks.com)
