Analysis & Forecast of Heavy Truck Market in Oct. 2012 I
www.chinatrucks.com: As statistics revealed by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), 306,803 commercial vehicles were sold in October 2012, reaching 0.52% negative year-on-year growth and 0.52% negative sequential growth. The total sales reached 3,070,577 units, growing on negative 6.55% year-on-year basis.
267,232 trucks (heavy trucks, light trucks, medium trucks and micro trucks) were sold in October 2012, reaching 1.3% positive year-on-year growth and 3.7% positive sequential growth. The sales totaled at 2,719,972 units, growing on -9.46% year-on-year bases.
Seen from the October sales statistics, the medium trucks increased by 16% sales growth, which was the star segment market in the truck market. The heavy trucks and the light trucks showed in the a litter growth in the sequential basis, but the micro trucks showed in the negative sales growth.
For heavy trucks, 43,640 units were sold in October 2012, down 23.41% on a year-on-year bases and up 1.93% on a sequential base.

From August to October 2012, the truck market was seen following the rule of “Golden September and silver October”. According to the CAAM data shows, a total of 496,274 heavy trucks were produced in Jan.-Oct. 2012, down 30.24% year-on-year growth. And a total of 535,928 heavy trucks were sold in Jan.-Oct. 2012, which decreased by 233,421 units comparing to the 769,349 units in Jan.-Oct. 2011, down 30.34% year-on-year growth.
The sale volumes of heavy trucks in Jan.-Oct. 2012 only reached the 60.9% of the total sale volumes of the heavy trucks in 2011.
