Facing the major earthquake, China truck maker begin to donate
A major earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County of southwest China's Sichuan Province at 2:28 p.m. Monday.
Until now, the victim number has reached 11,921; there are 1955 after shocks after the first big one, of which there are 3 over 6 Richter scale shocks.
Because of bad weather and road blocked by sliding mountain stones, it is hard for rescuing troop to reach the epicenter and the exact situation of the area is still unknown. With a population of 111,800, Wenchuan lies in southeast part of the Tibetan-Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Aba, 146 km to the northwest of Chengdu, provincial capital of Sichuan. It is learned that a group of 1,300 soldiers have reached Sichuan Wenchun area the epicenter of the earthquake on foot. It is heavy raining there which has brought great difficulties to the rescuing work. It is said that there are at least several thousands people are buried there.
China Premier Minister has flown to Sichuan once the earthquake broke out. Mr. Premier Minister ordered troops to clear roads to Wenchuan, and grip every second they could to come to the people need help. He said "Not one minute can be wasted. One minute, one second could mean a child's life".
Facing such a catastrophe, people and enterprises around the country are striving to donate. Truck maker shanxi Automobile Group has donated 1 million Yuan to the stroke area and Greatwall Motor has donated 20 units vehicles.
