Weichai estimates revenue at $4.8 bln for 2008
Major Chinese engine maker Weichai Power Co said its preliminary estimate of 2008 revenue was 33.1 billion yuan ($4.84 billion) recently.
The company said its unaudited operating profit was projected to be about 2.4 billion to 2.8 billion yuan and total profit before income tax was about 2.6 billion to 2.9 billion yuan.
The Chinese engine maker said it had been operating stably without any material impairment in assets during the first three quarters in 2008, but it gave no further details.

Weichai reported a profit of 2.01 billion yuan in 2007 with revenue amounting to 27.42 billion yuan.
Last August, the company posted a 95.5 percent rise in interim profit to 1.66 billion yuan on revenue of 20.05 billion yuan.
