Zoomlion to Enter Heavy-duty Truck Market
www.chinatrucks.com: China's leading construction machinery maker Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd. (Zoomlion) plans to manufacture heavy-duty trucks in addition to its main business, disclosed Zhan Chunxin, chairman of Zoomlion, at a recent shareholder meeting of the company, reported engineeringmachinery.net.
As the largest client of Daimler Benz globally, Zoomlion has a potential need of heavy-duty trucks. Products of Zoomlion, such as concrete machineries and sanitary machineries, are in large need of heavy-duty trucks. Zoomlion, also a special-purpose vehicle maker, demands engines and transmissions in manufacturing sanitary trucks and crane trucks, and the development of heavy-duty trucks can assist the company’s main business, said Zhan.
Given the concern of shareholders on the current situation of the construction machinery industry, Zhan believes the industry will bounce back by the end of second quarter of this year. “The whole industry will see a positive growth in volume but with a slower growth speed,” said Zhan.
