First Cummins L9.3 Engine Rolls off the Line
www.chinatrucks.com: On March 14th, the first Cummins L9.3 engine rolled off the production line, which represented the official operation of Guangxi Cummins Industrial Power Company (GCIC), a JV engine manufacturer in Liuzhou City established by Cummins (NYSE Code: CMI) and Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. (Stock Code: 000528).
New Cummins L9.3 engine is tailored for the loader. The local production of the engines with many specifications can meet the requirements of Liugong Machinery Company and other engineering machinery companies.
"The new engine, developed for engineering machinery field, is a strong supplement to Cummins product line in China." Vice President of Cummins Engine Division Dave Crompton said, "I believe the customer-oriented strategy will lay the solid foundation for the success of GCIC."
As Cummins' first engine manufacturer in China, GCIC is one of the largest non-road diesel engine production bases. The project, worthy of CNY 1 billion, covers 0.2 million m2 of the land with 50,000 engines of annual productivity at the beginning.
