SCR Becomes Main Technology for China Heavy Trucks with National 4 Emission
www.chinatrucks.com: Many Chinese heavy trucks with national 4 emission are using SCR technology based on survey. Worldwide there are SCR and EGR for national 4 emission and SCR is good for China situations.
Generally speaking, SCR technology poses minor changes for the engine and the engine is more durable and with good fuel economy and there is no risks of catalytic converter blocking, and it is easier to upgrade for higher emission standards and there is no need to equip oil regeneration control, and the maintenance costs are less. But SCR system needs to add urea injection system and it requires better capsulation. And urea supply has to be solved firstly, and EGR+DOC+DPF has higher fuel consumptions and E-GR and cooling system need to be equipped and they need fuel with less sulphur and lubricating oil of high quality. And it poses higher requirement on engine and the maintenance, or it may affect the use life of the engine and leads to catalytic converter blocking. However, no urea supply system is needed for passive regeneration system. For the active regeneration system, oil regeneration device and even complicated system is needed apart from the above mentioned passive regeneration system. EGR+DOC+DPF need supply of diesel with less sulphur across China. So that we can say that SCR technology is chosen by main China heavy truck makers can be attributed to technology strength and current fuel in China.
