Foton General Manager Awarded Role Model in China’s Fight Against COVID-19
On August 8, a meeting to commend role models in China’s fight against the COVID-19 epidemic was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the meeting and presented medals to outstanding individuals and delivered a speech.
Gong Yueqiong, General Manager of Foton, was awarded one of the Role Models in China’s fight against COVID-19 epidemic. After the outbreak of COVID-19, Gong Yueqiong led all employees from Foton and formed a special work team to deliver negative pressure ambulances urgently needed by cities across China. So far, the company delivered 1,920 units negative pressure ambulances to hospitals and cities across the globe. Moreover, it donated 42 units such vehicles to Wuhan, Shulan, Ecuador, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Egypt, etc.
While quickly restoring its production, Foton has reported no confirmed cases of COVID-19. From January to August, the company sold 439,146 units commercial vehicles, up by 26.5% year on year.
