Analysis and Projection of Heavy Truck Market in First Quarter of 2014
www.chinatrucks.com: Data from Automobile Association data showed a slight overall growth in the domestic commercial vehicle market. In January 2014, the monthly production of 70 companies in the auto market was 2,051,665, an increase of 4.44%, and the cumulative total production as 2,051,665, an increase of 4.44%. In January, the sales was 2,156,355, an increase of 17.92 %. The monthly sales of 77 commercial vehicles companies was 341,094, a decrease of 0.64%, and the cumulative total production was 341,094, an decrease of 0.64%.The monthly sales of 75 commercial vehicles companies was 309,509, an increase of 0.18%, and the cumulative sales was 309,509, an increase of 0.18%.

Heavy truck market analysis: Spring Festival being the cause, heavy truck market experienced “slight growth
According to the Automobile Association data, in January 2014, sales of commercial trucks (heavy trucks, light trucks, medium trucks, micro trucks) reached 264,868, a decline of 10.65% than the previous month, a decrease of 0.65% than the same period last year. Among them, sales of medium trucks was 18,682, a decline of 14.96% than the previous month, a decrease of 16.88% than the same period last year. Total sales of light trucks was 151,056, a decline of 5.16% than the previous month, an increase of 0.56% than the same period last year. Total sales of micro trucks was 43,936, an increase of 5.16% than the previous month, a decline of 0.56% than the same period last year.
In terms of vehicle models, the tractor market had relatively significant sales growth in the market, while the heavy-duty truck market did not see much growth. The class II chassis market continued growing remarkably. To be more specific, production and sales heavy-duty trucks were 15,285 and 13,837, respectively decreased by 12.50% and 9.18%. Production and sales of heavy-duty class II chassis were 28,063 and 19,137, respectively increased by 29.33% and 22.78%. Production and sales of semitrailer tractors were 19601 and 18,220, respectively increased by 28.46% and 49.48%. The heavy truck non-complete vehicles and semi-tractors showed significant growth in sales, except the heavy-duty trucks.
January competition pattern: class II chassis (dump trucks and special vehicles) market to determine the heavy truck market sales ranking
According to the data analysis of Automobile Association in January, due to better sales of class II chassis, the 2013 annual market rankings were changed compared with the rankings in January 2013 which were as below: Dongfeng (9411), Sinotruk (8756), Foton (5782), Jiefang Trucks (5117), Shaanxi Heavy Trucks (4618). The rankings of January 2014 were as below: Sinotruk, Dongfeng, Jiefang Trucks, Foton, Shaanxi Heavy Trucks.
