Allison to Debut Industry-leading Products and Technology at Shanghai Autoshow
Date:2017-04-14 Source:www.chinatrucks.com
www.chinatrucks.com: Allison Transmission will showcase its industry-leading fully automatic transmissions and newest technology for commercial-duty vehicles at booth 5BH139 in Hall 5.2 during Auto Shanghai, April 21-28.
Allison is the world’s largest manufacturer of fully automatic transmissions for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles and is a leader in hybrid-propulsion systems for city buses. This will be the company’s first appearance at the biannual auto event.
In 1981, Allison first entered China’s commercial vehicle market. Today, Allison automatic transmissions are featured across China in numerous applications including city buses, coaches, refuse, mining, construction, fire, airport support vehicles, terminal tractors and oil field equipment. The company’s Continuous Power TechnologyTM enables smooth and uninterrupted power shifts and superior acceleration. Each shift is calculated to choose the most efficient shift point, helping drivers precisely maneuver their vehicles and better control their operation.
In addition to their full range of Allison Automatics, the company will also feature two new innovations during Auto Shanghai: FuelSense® 2.0 and the Allison TC10® transmission.
Originally introduced in 2014, Allison’s FuelSense packages enabled significant fuel economy improvements. For 2017, all new FuelSense 2.0 technology with DynActive™ Shifting is being released. DynActive™ Shifting provides an infinitely variable combination of shift points. FuelSense 2.0 uses a learning algorithm to continuously find the ideal balance of fuel economy and performance.
Providing maximum value for applications with heavy start-stop needs, FuelSense 2.0 is ideally suited for city bus, school bus, refuse, construction and distribution. With more than 3 million test miles in customer fleets representing a variety of duty-cycles, the fleets have experienced fuel economy gains up to 6 percent.
With an innovative and unique design, the 10-speed fully automatic TC10 combines Allison’s torque converter with a twin countershaft gear scheme. This combination provides both full power shifts and cruising fuel economy for greater productivity and efficiency. The transmission is ideal for tractor applications and is extremely well-suited for distribution applications where the tractor-trailer splits its work cycle between city and highway conditions.
Overall, fleets adopting the TC10 and sharing data with Allison are reporting an average fuel economy improvement of 5 percent when compared to other transmission technologies. With FuelSense® technology, a unique package of software and electronic controls, the TC10 achieves the best fuel economy, regardless of driver experience or expertise.
