www.chinatrucks.com: The completion of “Chaoyue”, the high-end light truck of Nanjing IVECO, has drawn great attention from domestic commercial vehicle market. To some extent, “Chaoyue” has an epoch-making influence for the development of domestic light truck market.

Though not being launched yet, Zhou Liang, general manager of Nanjing IVECO, can’t help showing his confidence in this model because with competitiveness and vitality, “Chaoyue” has overthrown lots of the traditional concepts.
Nanjing IVECO has been a focus during the last five years, the light passenger vehicle products from the company stood out by employing separate frame construction and design of multiple functions, leading to a 45% of the market share; meanwhile, light truck products from Nanjing IVECO are also on the fast rise in the market.
“As the first high-end light truck of Nanjing IVECO, the commercial vehicle research institute was moved to Nanjing by Shanghai Auto and part of the vehicle test was conducted in Italy” Zhou said. With scientific and accurate management on production as the guideline, VE/VA value project, SE project, SQE Assessment and other processes were carried out from design to completion of “Chaoyue.”
As planned, Shanghai Auto will reach 500,000 commercial vehicles in production and sales by 2015, among which 300,000 will be IVECO products. Products including “Chaoyue” are planned to be sold by 250,000 and will become an important move in the commercial vehicle for Shanghai Auto.
Zhou revealed that currently, Nanjing IVECO products are sold in the less developed regions and emerging industrial zones by employing the sales channel of Italy IVECO. A global strategy, which is focused on the developed countries and regions in Europe, will be launched next September
Despite the 7% drop of the average sales in the commercial vehicle market, light truck business grew by 19% for Nanjing IVECO. It is reported that the objective for Nanjing IVECO in the first stage is to achieve a 25% of the whole sales for products of its independent platform.
