Dongfeng Cummins Kicks Off Groundbreaking for Heavy-duty Engine Production Line
CHINA, November, 17 /chinatrucks.com/ -- On November 16, 2021,Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd (hereafter referred to as Dongfeng Cummins) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of its new Heavy-duty Engine production plant at the “legend” assembly line.

Dongfeng Cummins Heavy-duty Engine production line features a machining production line and an assembly line. The project kicked off on November 16 is the assembly line, which covers an area of 24330 square meters and wii take two years and 4 months to complete the construction. After completion, it will handle the production of six engine models with 7 displacements. The production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2023 and will reach an annual capacity of up to 80 thousand units per year with potential to increase further. In the long term, Dongfeng Cummins has developed a plan for step-by-step investment strategy to build a world-class engine production line with high levels of automation and digitalization.
With over 200 thousand sales of engines and AMT products and 10 billion in revenue in the past three years, Dongfeng Cummins aims to increase the sales volume to 300 thousand units in the coming three years.
