Heavy-duty Truck Market Had a Good Start in 2017

www.chinatrucks.com: In January 2017, the top 10 heavy truck manufacturers delivered about 84 thousand units, and overall sales are expected to exceed 86 thousand. Compared to the same period of 38 thousand units in the last year, the sales doubled and the growth is up by 119%. Even compared to the last December, the month-on-month growth also achieved 18%.
Heavy truck high growth is tightly related to the implementation of new GB1589. With the implementation of the new regulations, a number of models need to be replaced by more compliance or more profitable trucks, this demand will continue for several months. In addition, up to July 1, 2017, China will implement National V emission standard across the country. The heavy truck will continue to keep hot sales in the first half of 2017.

We can see from above chart that the year-on-year growth of top 10 heavy truck manufacturers are all increased. Especially Jiefang and JAC have growth by over 200%.
According to the report, in January 2017, the heavy truck sales of FAW, DONGFENG, SINOTRUK and SHACMAN have exceeded 10000 units. FAW Jiefang still keeps high growth, delivered 24000 units in this January, up by 220% year on year and 243% month on month. The sales of DONGFENG, SINOTRUK and SHACMAN are 14000 units, 13000 units and 12000 units. It is worth noting that, the three companies sales had better performance compared with the same period last year, but compared with December 2016, they saw a small decline in different degree.
In addition, JAC sales of 7500 units have been close to the sales of Foton Daimler sales of 7600 units. This is due to the rapid growth in recent years, on the other hand, JAC may remain a part of the last year sales.
