Data Shows China Pickup Builders Move Further into Overseas Market
www.chinatrucks.com: In April 2017, the majority of pickup companies report a total export sale of 2316 units, up 130% year-on-year. Among which, JMC, Zhongxing and Zhengzhou Nissan give a three-digit increase, and further moving into overseas market.
China pickup has been developing rapidly since this year and becomes eye-catching segment. The statistics show that from January to April in 2017, the 16 pickup builders have reported a jump of 20% over past year to 130293 units, a strong 18.65% increase. With reference to export, it reports January to April sales with 6629 units, which is up 102.3% from the previous year and much higher than the domestic increase. The advantage in having such highly-advanced technology and trust from international customers allows China pickup to further expand the global footprint.
Pickup market share changes as they consistently make significant inroads into overseas market. In the past, when asked about pickup export, Great Wall has always been the first one coming into your mind and its Fengjun pickup has been a pickup model among the top export volume and countries since 1998. However, as JMC, Zhongxing and Zhengzhou Nissan speed up their expansion into overseas market, the leading position of Great Wall was gradually taken and shared by multi pickup builders.
In April, Zhongxing Motor achieved No.1 sales with 853 units, up 587.9% year-on-year, followed by Zhengzhou Nissan and JMC, with a jump of 574.2% and 132% year-on-year respectively. SAIC MAXUS has been exported successfully in less than one month after its launch. Although the export volume is small, it is a great achievement in China.
