Weichai Hosts 2024 Global Partner Conference in Indonesia
On January 23rd, Shandong Heavy Industry - Weichai Power hosted its Global Partner Conference and the Southeast Asia New Product Exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia. There are over 1,000 distributors and major customer from more than 20 countries across Southeast Asia, East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and beyond that attended the grand event.

Tan Xuguang, chairman and general manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group and chairman of Weichai Power, delivered a keynote speech on "Collaborating to Create Higher Value for Customers" and presented awards to 14 strategic partners.
During the conference, Shandong Heavy Industry formally signed new agreements with Indonesia's MNC Group and Meratus through its China National Heavy Duty Truck division, a move aimed at strengthening its financial leasing and manufacturing business in Southeast Asia.
Indonesia is the third stop for Shandong Heavy Industry - Weichai Power's Global Partner Conference, following similar events recently held in Central Asia and the Middle East. Indonesia is also a strategic market for Shandong Heavy Industry where it began its overseas business some 30 years ago.
Shandong Heavy Industry Group, headquartered in Jinan, China, is a leading manufacturer of heavy machinery and equipment, boasting an annual revenue of RMB 50 billion. In recent years, the company has been expanding its global layout. In 2023, its export revenue was up 57% yoy to 85 billion Yuan, with an increase above 50% for 4 consecutive years. At present, Shandong Heavy Industry has set up 287 overseas offices, has 905 channel partners, 10 joint venture plants, and 1,500 personnel stationed overseas.
Shandong Heavy Industry has built up a good reputation in the Southeast Asian vehicle market. The vehicle brands under the group showcased a total of 29 products, including high-end tractor unit, dumper, light-duty cargo truck, pickup and NEV buses. It is projected that its total sales in Southeast Asia in the past five years will reach an estimated 100,000 units.
Engineering machinery, as a strategic part, has saw rapid growth due to its overseas expansion. Powered by Weichai Power + Linde s hydraulic system + independent electronic control system, its machinery equipment like loaders, excavators, bulldozers, graders can provide an integrated solution for customers.
The geographical advantages and the appeal for accelerating development of agricultural mechanization in Southeast Asia provide enormous opportunities for Shandong Heavy Industry. During the conference, Shandong Heavy Industry also displayed more than 10 units of tractors, crawler harvesters and rice transplanters.
During the conference, Shandong Heavy Industry introduced its new products to be launched in 2024, including high-end heavy trucks, NEV buses, generator set and large bore engines, demonstrating world-class product competitiveness.
