C&C Truck Won Championship in Qinghai-Tibet Truck Competition
www.chinatrucks.com: From Sept. 25 to 30, a competition was held on Qinghai-Tibet road to find out the strongest truck which is capable of climbing the steepest slope along the road. China's seven leading truck makers, namely Dongfeng, China National Heavy Duty Truck, FAW Jiefang, Foton Daimler Auman, C&C Truck, Dayun Heavy Truck, and Beiben Trucks together brought twenty truck models, all of which are six-axle locomotives, to participate in the competition.
Starting from Xidatan Village with an altitude of 4110 meters, these trucks drove 35 km to the Kunlun Mountain Pass, which is 4,768 meters above the sea-level. Despite the short distance, this section of road include a 9-km steep slope. Trucks and truck drivers all have to overcome a host of challenges posed by the high altitude and low temperature and huge differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. This means only the best truck with the highest capacity of uphill hauling can triumph ultimately.
In the end, C&C truck won the champion. The rest 19 trucks also delivered impressive performances.
