Renault Trucks Secures New Euro 6 Range T Order from TAS Transport
www.chinatrucks.com: Leading national and international haulage company, TAS Transport, has placed one of the first orders with Renault Trucks for a new Euro 6 Range T tractor unit.
The Renault T460 6x2 with sleeper cab will be delivered in January 2014, through Renault Trucks distributor Norfolk Truck and Van. It is the fourth Renault truck to join TAS Transport’s 50-strong, predominantly Mercedes fleet since it took its first Renault Premium in May this year. The company will also benefit from Renault Trucks’ two year R&M contract package and Fuel Eco package, including Optifleet telematics and Optifuel driver training, provided free of charge on all new orders placed before the end of 2013.
The new truck will undertake long distance operations on behalf of the Palletways network. Terry Stevens, Managing Director, TAS Transport, explains why the company chose to opt for the new Range T model: “Since adding the first Renault to our fleet this year we have been very impressed with the fuel consumption and have seen an increase in the mpg we are achieving. However, we are even more excited about the fuel returns promised with the new Range T. Plus, with the addition of the Optifleet telematics system, driver training and Fuel Eco Pack benefits that come with the truck we are hoping to make further savings.”
He continues: “With regards to our drivers, we have had nothing but positive feedback from them in regards to the new Premiums, with easy to drive, comfortable sleeper cabs, offering a good panoramic view. Again, we are looking forward to even greater comfort from the new Range T model, which is extremely spacious and almost a ‘walk-around’ cab.”
Speaking of the company’s future objectives, he says: “Once we have had the new Renault T460 on the road for a few months we are looking to purchase two more trucks. We definitely see a future with Renault and, when the time comes, we will look to replace our rigid trucks with Renaults as well as the tractor units.”
Based near Heathrow Airport in Hayes, Middlesex, TAS Transport is now in its second decade of trading. The company specialises in Airfreight Services & Logistics; Contract Hire; Palletised Freight and Warehousing & Container devanning at its 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Heathrow. TAS Transport works for a wide range of industries: manufacturers, processors, wholesalers, importers, exporters and retail. The company invests £1m a year in its fleet to ensure it remains up to date with, or ahead of current legislation.
