Great Wall & Foton pickups enter overseas markets

www.chinatrucks.com: 35,000 Great Wall pickups were exported in 2011, up 36%, taking 80% of China pickups exports. In South Africa, Great Wall pickups are ranked one the three world pickup brands together with Toyota and Ford.
Last October, Foton released their first strategic pickup model, Tunland, and they are considering exporting their pickups this year.
According to sources from Foton, 90% of sales of pickups are high-end markets, namely, the volumes are 1.35 million units. So it is a good chance for Foton Tunland to compete this market.
