Feb commercial vehicle sales up 21.5% to 268,600 units
(chinatrucks.com, Mar.11, 2010)China's commercial vehicle sales in February grew 21.5% from a year earlier to 268,600 units, but down 22.87% from the previous month, Xinhua News reported, citing the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the first two months of 2010, commercial vehicle sales leapt 77.87% year on year to 616,800 units and output surged 88.02% to 657,700 units, according to the latest data released by the industry association.
Dongfeng Motor took the lead among Chinese commercial vehicle producers in terms of sales in February. The combined sales of the 10 commercial vehicle producers reached 191,100 units, taking up 71% of the country's total CV sales in the month.
In the first two months, the combined sales of the 10 commercial vehicle makers reached 430,100 units, accounting for 70% of the country's total commercial vehicle sales in the period.
China's total auto sales, including passenger and commercial vehicles, rose 46% to more than 1.21 million last month, slower than January when sales more than doubled from a year earlier to top 1.6 million units, a new record.
